The theory is that this song refers to the folk ballad "Miorița" which is about a Moldavian shepherd who is given a vision of his death as a testament. He sends a message to his family to say he married a princess, and explain why he left, to spare them the pain of his death. Traditionally, we have godparents at the wedding - so instead of them, he says the Sun and Moon (soarele şi luna) will be his godparents who will hold their crowns (in our tradition the groom and bride wear crowns during the church cerimony). The flute in the song is a shepherd's flute.
The two girls - ancestral dance of the forest fairies/goddesses (In Romanian - Iele). The "iele" are feminine mythical creatures in Romanian mythology. Often they are described as faeries (zâne in Romanian), with great seductive power over men, with magic skills and attributes similar to nymphs, naiads and dryads found in Greek mythology.
It's a song full of symbolism, hidden meanings, an exceptional interpretation, a kind of enchantment from the magical world with goddesses and fantastical creatures.

Dude! I refer to Moldova as “The Madlads of Eurovision”, but now I think I need to change it to “The Underrated Madlads of Eurovision” Moldova in Eurovision is fucking awesome to watch but not all the time do they get that recognition! They also integrate their culture in their performances! Soarele si Luna is such a fun song, I just feel so much happiness seeing how much fun Pasha is have on stage, I just want to get up and dance with them! Love from Australia 🇦🇺 💕🇲🇩

This performance was so awesome! And underrated.
Pasha’s voice is smooth and powerful and really gives me the chills, especially combined with those harmonies by the ladies. The drummers in the background and the epic flute guy really make this song insane and the light show combined with the sick electronics on the stage itself made for such a great act
