As Brexit negotiations continue, the issue of the Irish border remains one of the trickiest issues. But what about Gibraltar, the UK territory that sits on the southern tip of Spain? It now faces the prospect of crashing out of the European Union against the will of the vast majority of its citizens. The tiny outpost has carved out an economic niche for itself based on easy access to the European Union, but what will happen once the UK leaves the bloc? Our team reports.
A programme prepared by Yong Chim, Rebecca Martin and Gaëlle Essoo.

You really need to differentiate between online gaming and online gambling. People playing games on the console paints a totally different picture to people gambling online.

The UK citizens in Gibraltar voted 96% to remain in the EU.
The UK citizens in Northern Ireland voted 56% to remain in the EU.
The UK citizens in Scotland voted 60% to remain in the EU.
Let the Brexiteers leave Gibraltar, Ireland, and Scotland.

We are sick of the Gibraltar matter and the arrogant political style of the first minister Picardo. The only business that can survive at the Spanish side is the illegal traffic of the duty-free Gibraltarian tobacco and drugs from Morocco. Why? Because these sort of things don't have IVA(Spanish and European VAT) Gibraltar pays very little because it works very similar to a duty-free. The Spanish business is not playing at the same level as Gibraltar. Spain is a UE member and has to pay IVA and Gibraltar does not. Also, I am wondering where the money from the Spanish politician corruption is kept. Gibraltar wants to remain in Europe Union without paying the same rate of taxation as the rest of the main Spanish territory with a free access to the Spanish side. This is a joke. A lot of people begin dealing with illegal tobacco and then develop a very corrupt way to live.

Just a suggestion:
1. Grant Gibraltar independence
2. Gibraltar joins the EU
3. Gibraltar becomes an associated state with the UK (kinda like how Micronesia is associated with the US)
That would hinge on Gibraltar being accepted into the EU, and that no EU laws/statutes prevent a member state from forming a free association with a non-member state.

A lucrative and bright future.
And no, Picardo has CONSTANTLY maintained that they will go with Britain.
They are NOT being ‘forced’ to leave at all.

And the gaming industry...what did he say
“40 billion GLOBALLY”.
The EU are not the globe.
