Gibraltars such a strange story. Spain has cities in morocco yet refuses to aknowledge the irony of Gibraltar not being Spanish since the 1600s

2:20 Tarifa is the southern tip of the Spanish mainland, and is several kilometers further south than Gibraltar

This vid flopped, so I’ll just spoil it. I hid "The Rock" in this video about "The Rock" at 11:42

I never realized how small Gibraltar truly was! Looking at your abstracted silhouette map and the docks, I figured they weren't too scale. One quick pull up of google maps and lo and behold, they were. Such a rich history for such a tiny place.

for being such a tiny place Gibraltar really is fascinating, it's no coincidence that when creating my world's geography for my d&d campaign i run i started with 2 peninsulas reaching off separate continents with a small strait separating the 2 & a long history of crossings + trade. Thanks for the inspiration Gibraltar lol

it's fascinating how geography plays a role in warfare. even in the modern age. point being that it's not as if any if you couldn't just set up a military fort/dock on any other part of the vast shoreline between Spain & Morocco and arguably be just as effective. but because Gibraltar is a jutting outcrop of the land it gets all this special attention.

Maybe you could make a video about the metric system and the imperial system so you can elaborate more on why 1 mile = 8 furlong = 5280 foot is so much more useful and better than 1 km = 1000 m.

90% of people viewing this is probably using the metric system, careful with your condescendent comment @ 2:00

3:04 Probably it was Jebel Musa. It may have been Monte Hache.

I thought you tried a more "neutral" approach in your videos, but seeing all your sources are in English, and Britannica, it's ovious which side you're on.
1st: THE southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula is Tarifa, not Gibraltar.
2nd: the Spanish settlers of Gibraltar by 1700's were harassed by the British troops until they "freely" leff (taking with them every relic they could of their past). I think that has a name…
3rd: Spain's participation in the American Independence War was to make up the losses in the 7 Years' War, not the Spanish Succession War. Spain retook Florida and Minorca and was happy with that.
4th: during WW2 the civil population of Gibraltar was deported/evacuated from the Rock. So much about preserving "the population rights".

View it as the least amount of territory 🇪🇸 had to cede to get 🇬🇧 to shut up. 🇬🇧 always gets what 🇬🇧 wants it’s always lose-lose for anyone who gets the attention of 🇬🇧 I’m afraid.

The Spanish couldn't capture Gibraltar, but in the same war, they took back Menorca

Did the British ask the real people from Gibraltar who were killed by them if they wanted to be part of them? NO
