When we were kids, my mom wrapped an empty box for my little brother. She had already put together the toy but wanted him to be able to unwrap the present. My brother got so happy said it was just what he needed. Then proceeded to go in his room and get a belt, put the box on his back and wrap the belt around his waist. He finally had a shell and could be a ninja turtle. He was much more excited about that box than he was about the actually toy. So much so that I don't remember what the toy was but I will always remember his creativity

The second mom cheated, that Toothpaste had a huge picture of Moana on it, at that age I would have been excited about a roll of toilet paper if it had Pocahontas' face on it (she was my fav Disney princess) and I actually got Pocahontas towels and bubble bath for Christmas in 1996, I lost my damn mind I was so happy.

Proof that 99.99% of little kids don't care about what the gift is, they jus care about it being a gift. When they get older an are more spoiled, then they care about what the gift is.

Well, I remember myself receiving a potato as a gift once.
Most likely, my grandma was caught offguard and was out of presents that one night, so she wrapped potato in red paper and put it under the Christmas tree. I remember I was very excited because I thought it was a special potato, a magical one. I asked my grandma to cook it for me separately from the other potatoes, ate it and was truly happy. I don’t know, that’s how kid’s mind works. I thought I’ll get stronger and healthier by eating that potato. 😂

Later I received my true Christmas present from parents, I can’t remember what it was. Probably it was a toy or Lego that I asked for.

I’ll never forget the potato though 🥔

I still think it was a good gift, because it was... special in some way 😄 not your ordinary toy or sweets. It felt like Santa knew that I don’t really like to eat sweets and he brought me something I will really like to eat 😂 a miracle, isn’t it?

These kids are actually so sweet. Most of them seem grateful/act grateful because they don't want to hurt their mom's feelings. I'm glad this compilation wasn't filled with a bunch of spoiled kids screaming their heads off.

This should be a lesson for all of us. The soft hearted children who were still grateful to unwrap a gift that was a “gag” gift vs the ones who were not. Sends a strong message on how and what we teach our children.
