Earth: The Power of the Planet (2007)
Examining the great forces that shape the Earth - volcanoes, the ocean, the atmosphere and ice - the programme explores their central roles in our planet's story. How do these forces affect the Earth's landscape, its climate, and its history? CGI gives the audience a ringside seat at these great events, while the final episode brings together all the themes of the series and argues that Earth is an exceptionally rare kind of planet - giving us a special responsibility to look after our unique world.

The fact that he’s not bothered by the flies crawling on his lips and face is a feat by itself.

3:36 - Easy to miss but there's a brief moment where the sun glints off the smooth surface just right and you can see some mostly parallel lines across it. This was the leading edge as it began to ablate in the upper atmosphere, creating a pattern something similar to if you melt ice in the wind of a fan.

it´s current in Denmark at the moment, as a slow Meteor might have deposited Meteorites on 4. of March over mid-Jutland.

God, my absolute dream job right here. I am an aussie studying earth science. Saw one of these types of meteorites in my prac the other day - so heavy it was, but a bit bigger than the one in this vid! And it was also from the Nullarbor! I love field work; even 45+ deg is tolerable when I get to do earth sci with friends.

The next night after a intense meteor shower., I was going sit in my backyard in my lawn chair to see the next one because I was told that they (some friends of mine, ) seen some Good Fire Balls that Previous night. I was just fixing to sit Down in my Lawn Chair, When I noticed what look like a glow worm on the ground, I walked over with my flashlight to see it. Because I thought it was cool. It had a greenish but Mostly Bright Blue glow! I thought, wow, really pretty. But When I shined my flashlight on it, It wasn't a glow warm it all. It was a black coated rock that was in a Freshly blown out hole in the dirt around 3 inches deep. the Rock was
Roughly the size of a baseball, Smooth and pretty Heavy. It had different spots on it that was glowing, that Varied in Size and Shape. Some the size of a BB to the size of a Nickel, I Scraped some of the Black Part scraping some dust into my Hand, i smelled it to see if it had a Smell, and Strangely, it Smelled kinda like Burnt Gun Powder or Something, . I thought, Humm, .Strange, why would it smell like That!!?? I think I need to take it to a University to have it checked out! I don't know what this is. All I know that it is very strange.. Very cool, looking though. LSU Isn't that far, think ill take it there. Who Knows? It may be worth something!??

you'd think they'd use a metal detector vs straining their eyes to visually see one...but they're British ...that says it all
