Watch the area around the light at the end of the wing. About half way through the video, a meteor can be spotted falling to earth. Time of spotting was 26 December 2016 7.39am GMT flying between Gatwick and Rovaniemi. Lucky Shot!

How Cool is that!
It's rare to see a meteor fall, but to catch one from a jetliner?
Rare indeed.

It's at 0:09, very small and for a tiny span of time only, just left of the red area of lower wing and above the horizon.

That's a good looking wing, solid construction, nice color scheme too. Kudos to the airline

Had a friend who had a meteor fall in his car while driving. It was very small. Pretty much invisible like this one.

About 4 years ago, I stepped out my back door to enjoy a picture perfect dark night full of stars only to see a bright star getting even brighter as it seemed to come right at me. Then it twinkled into an even brighter rare object and then just disappear right before it hit my face. It had to be a meteorite coming straight in my individual direction. It looked so cool, you'd have to have seen it to understand what I saw.

After about 10 views I finally saw it. Glad it didn’t hit your plane.

A small one like this is sort of special, as you know that relatively few people saw it.

most "meteors" are no bigger than a grain of sand.

how can this have more dislikes than likes??? What did you people expect? Meteor like in american sci-fi or what, should it fly by the plane while waving to you? :D

For the dislikers: 0:09 the left side near the wing end.

I have often wondered if PanAm 800 was hit by a meteor which might explain some of what eye witnesses reported

I genuinely thought this was clickbait idk why I was expecting a full on mountain sized asteroid

While large impacts are fairly rare,  thousands of tiny pieces of space rock, called meteorites, hit the ground each year. However, the majority of these events are unpredictable and go unnoticed, as they land in vast swathes of uninhabited forest or in the open waters of the ocean.

Why can't people see it, I literally have one-eyes blurry visions and I can still see it.

At 0:10 left s side by the black line of airplane there is a little ball of light

As long as a meteor doesn't strike and impact the plane.

This is one good way of getting alot of views - it's like hide and seek, replaying a small clip over and over until u find what ure looking for
