Krell is hated for the exact opposite reason that Plo Koon is loved.

“Why General? Why kill your own men?” “Because I can. Because you fell for it. Because you're inferior.”

Vs

“But we’re just clones. We’re expendable”
“Not to me”

2:58

The umbarans can breathe air, they just have helmets that pump in air full of airborne simulants to keep them drugged up and energized in battle

It’s why later on in the arc, Rex mentions an umbaran ‘not having any juice left in him’

the battle of Umbara was the equivalent of the Vietnam War to the clones since the Umbarens blended in with a lot of their surroundings and were extremely hard to see especially with all the fog that the planet is covered in

8:40 Keep in mind, "This Clone" that you mentioned was Tup. Incase you forgot, Tup is the same clone that had his chip activated prematurely. He the proceeds to Execute Master Tiplar, one again, point blank to the face! That's ether one incredible coincidence or some next level foreshadowing from Filoni.

3:59 I also used to think that the Umbarans can't breathe air but the helmets actually pump the soldiers with a chemical that boosts adrenaline and aggression

I have three.favorite parts from these episodes.
1. Rex saying "These are men" why defending the clones
2. Dogma being the one to kill Krell
3. The clones heartbreak after they killed each other.

16:35 Rex probaly knows how to land that jump from getting thrown around by Anakin and Ahsoka all the time.

11:52 I love this shot. You can literally see the shock in fives, through the helmet, while every viewer is feeling the same thing

actually the umbarans can breath air..i think the helmets just dispense some sort of battle drug to make them fight better..not only because there is a umbaran senator walking around on coruscant with no helmets..but also the clones, obi wan, anakin, and pong krell walk around without helmets no problem

I remember throughout this arc I was conflicted about Krell for the first half of his appearances, I was conflicted between hating him and thinking that he's just a really strict Jedi. Honestly that's how I think the clones would have felt, either to think that their new general was just bad or really strict

"It's treason then?"

The infamous line that, technically Pong Krell used even before The Senate himself used it in ROTS!

The reason that Umbarans wear those strange space suit looking outfits in the lore is actually because the gas inside is a mixture of stimulants and drugs to heighten their abilities in combat. Literally every warrior on their side was the equivalent of a weaponized meth head on hyper speed crack. No wonder they seemed so crazy.

This whole arc was amazing start to finish! You could really see the creative team was given a "blank check" to go all out with season 3 and beyond. The amount of violence and adult themes in this arc, and later ones, goes to show this cartoon, while targeted at kids, was really for us adults who wanted to see more clone wars fights. The first couple minutes when the invasion first starts, and all the music just stops, leaving you with the gunships engines and blaster fire, will always give me chills. The calm before the storm.

So the canon explanation for the size of his lightsabers is that he was wielding 2 grainy sabers which have bigger handles and blades for bigger people. Where yoda used a secondary blade, which is small than you main saber, because of his size

I’ve heard that the Umbarans aren’t breathing air or anything, it’s actually an enhancer that makes them more effective combatants

Umbara was such a good and well made arc. It’s so brutal and probably the arc with the most clone death on scene.

I'm not sure how well known this is, but in Star Wars the blaster bolt color is determined by the quality of ammo used. Red was cheapest, weakest, and most common. Blue was more powerful, and often used for anti-armor/machinery. Green was much more powerful than the other two, but also too expensive to outfit most armies. This is why some of the Umbaran shots actually go through clones, like at 4:20 and 9:39

When i first saw Krell i loved him. I thought him being ruthless was cool but when he started threatining the clones i really hated him. The way he just killed them without remorse was just horrible to watch. Ngl i think i started to cry :P
