I voted for Trump last time (both times) not because I particularly liked his persona, but because he was the best on the issues.
THIS TIME, they are showing the more personal side of Trump. They’ve even toned down his hyper-orange tan. I find the ISSUES are coming more to the forefront as he tones back his more unpleasant personality traits. Trump remains BY FAR the better candidate.

Being an Australian, I'm living in hope that there are enough sensible Americans left to give Donald Trump victory over the Democrats in the upcoming Presidential race. This may clarify the joke. Mountain Dew was a new pop or soda drink when I was a boy in the 1960s. The bottles were green glass with a depiction of a hillbilly in overalls and dilapidated hat standing in front of a shack. It became very popular. I was living in a working class neighborhood in Metropolitan Detroit. We had moved from Louisville, KY. Our neighbors seemed to be either Southern Baptist or Polish Catholic. My background is rooted in the world of Hillbilly Elegy. My father and mother grew up in Hazard, Kentucky. Obviously the drink was refashioned to eliminate the image of a hillbilly since "mountain dew" was another name for an alcohol beverage produced in illegal stills. Still there is irony in calling a joke that may be about so-called "white trash" as "racist." Personally I have found myself condescended to because of my background about which I could not be less ashamed. Both my father and grandfather served this country in WWII and WWI.
