Even I can attest and say that AT&T 5G is often worse than LTE even in an area where AT&T reigns supreme. Having only 5 MHz of B5 dedicated to 5G is just a joke. Hopefully after the 3G shutdown this can improve and get bumped to 10 MHz, but it still isn't perfect. I almost with they could've dedicated a mid band block to it instead.

I agree AT&T 5G is absolutely awful. I have the highest plan and still experience slow speeds. Called many times with no solution to the problem.

I’m in South Orange County, CA. My neighbors who have AT&T are having a really hard time with their cell service. I just got my new 5G iPhone and I have Verizon. It’s running as smooth as silk. My neighbors complain to AT&T and were told that no one else is complaining. Apparently they are being lied to.

Thank God! I thought I was the only one to experience these awful speeds. I called and told AT&T that their data speeds in downtown Jackson MS were awful. I love the Elite Plan but the network needs help. I want to leave but I heard Verizon was just as bad now, plus I hate Verizon's 50GB data prioritization cap. So I'm stuck with AT&T.

I can attest to this as well. Had AT&T for 2 weeks and dumped them. 5G definitely worse than 4G, bad dropped calls, it was just all bad and way over priced to boot. Had VZW before and switched back to their network with US Mobile to get better coverage and save a load on monthly costs.

It's always hard to know wich network is good or bad. Where I live in Arizona my 5g speeds with at&t usually around 125-140 witch isn't true 5g but it's very usable

yeah AT&T 5G is so annoying. My iPhone and my iPad are 5G capable AND they connect to 5G but internet doesn’t work when my devices are connected to 5G. I need to go back into the settings and switch to LTE or ‘5GE’ because 5G refuses to work in my area.

Yesterday my friend and I did a 5G speed test comparison in a parking lot. Her Galaxy A21 was getting 400+ mbps on T-Mobile (Metro PCS). Meanwhile my iPhone 13 Pro on AT&T 5G was getting REALLY slow speeds of ~25mbps. The fastest speed I’ve ever experienced on AT&T 5G is 160mbps, with direct line of sight of a cell tower <1000ft away. Is there something weird with the way the iPhone handles 5G or is AT&T’s network just that terrible??

AT&T 5G speeds are straight up awful. I’m in the Chicago suburbs on iPhone 12 Pro Switched to Verizon and a whole new world opened up. From 50MB/s to 1.9GB/s…

That And att lacks density in a lot of areas. Their grid isn’t good

I live in Dallas, and I have no issues on 5G. So not really sure what this guy is talking about, 5G all over DFW is super fast

Hey Stetson
What carrier do you personally use? Not sure if you answered this in a recent video. Great content by the way!

What's hilarious is AT&T lte is faster than Verizon and t mobile 5G.

When I first got AT&T 5G I had high expectations. This is one of my worst tech experiences. My really cheap Spectrum wifi beats AT&T 5G hands down.

I wouldn't say AT&T 5G is a disaster, but it isn't much faster than their LTE-A under good conditions. Still they get the most consistent and reliable speeds and n5 helps when you are in a weaker area towards the edge of a site, that's where I see the biggest improvements over LTE. I've been very happy with the service so far as a whole

I live in a mid-size Ohio city. My experience with AT&T 5G is not good at all. It basically sucks. My cheap, bottom line Spectrum wifi runs circles around AT&T 5G.

So what are you doing on your phones that require so much speed? I don’t need much for social media or web browsing. I’m not gaming or anything like that.

That’s DSS for you. AT&T has less low band, mid band and millimeter wave than both T-Mobile. T-Mobile has the most of all of these spectrum frequencies followed by Verizon after. When they roll out C band and millimeter wave on a bigger scale u should be better speeds and less congestion
