Piranesi is so beautiful! I have the same illness the author has, which leads to me being stuck in my house, and Piranesi as a character has such a beautiful view of the world around him that it genuinely made me appreciate my life more than before. But you don't even need this connection to love the book at all. It really is good all around. Love the mystery, love the writing, love the characters. Absolute fav and I think I read it because of y'all. Thanks!

If some authors took inspiration from the Silmarillion rather than Lord of the Rings, I honestly think the fantasy genre would be 30 years ahead. Multi generational anti-hero fantasy with tons of battles, main character deaths, and thousands of characters? Sounds like Malazan or something. Truly ahead of its time.

Having read the Silmarillion after the Iliad, I really enjoyed it and recognized some of its stylistic choices! It's tough to do on its own though.

The Monster Blood Tattoo trilogy was the first thing I read that had world building akin to Tolkien. Multiple maps and appendices, an 80+ page glossary, etc. I didn't know anyone had done that kind of thing and I was totally entranced

I want to watch the pod so bad, but I haven’t read 90% of these books and I don’t want to get them spoiled haha, are there disclaimers for when talking about spoilers?
