In my au the tentacles have their own minds and personalities
1 is super lazy and sleepy all the time and sits in his lap/pockets, 1 is super grumpy all the time, 1 is super hyper like it drank 100 things of coffee, and the last one is just aloof, it's not lazy but it's just observing (it's also the one to remind nightmare of sleeping and food)
And the hyper one....its very stupid, it doesn't understand that a kettle with boiling water is hot, so it just touches it and spasms
