INSANITY – Australia Will Pump This Housing Ponzi Forever

History shows us that Australia consistently takes the path of easy relentless growth - which means constantly pumping up the housing market until it becomes so overpriced and obsessed over, that it now resembles a Giant Ponzi Scheme. This video shows why this ponzi will probably keep getting pumped until something finally breaks.

Will Australia keep pumping this housing ponzi until our society is completely destroyed?

Neither party will do anything about it. They're basically a uniparty at this point that is taking orders from elsewhere other than the people.

And another thing, why is it the real estate is allowed to be advertised for sale with no price? Everything else that's advertised for sale must have a price listed. How is it ethical that a real estate agent can run a blind auction, providing "feedback" on buyer's offers with the buyer unable to see the other offers? Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, your average Real Estate Agent: Zero transparency. Zero ethics. Zero soul.

In 1995 a couple of mates and I were renting a 3 bed 1 bath brick house in North Perth. Built in 1916, with 13 foot ceilings, a good sized lounge room and a backyard dunny. Even had a sleepout. On a 1/5 acre lot. Great for backyard parties.

The rent was $115 a week. I had the smallest bedroom, my share was $30 a week plus’s bills. I think water was free back then and electricity was very cheap. I was earning about $450 a week before tax.

The same house is renting now for $770 a week. Yeah it’s had a coat of paint and new carpets and a new kitchen, but it’s the same place.

I ran the $115 in 1995 and inflation adjusted it’s $239 in 2023. Rent is $770, so it’s over 300% above the inflation adjusted figure in 2024.

We’ve let our kids down by robbing them of the chance to live in their own place. They can’t start a family and have three kids and afford their own home.

Guys our economy is too reliant on property surging. Government is no longer looking after young Australians.

They have told us up front and no one believed them; "you will own nothing (a home) and you will be happy", and those who did believe it were called conspiracy theorists.

In 2 years. We will have moved overseas to my wifes hometown. There we can rebuild the family home, buy and re open our business and rent a plot of land on a quiet island for fifty years. All for tenth of the cost of buying one shit box in Australia. No thanks. We are already selling or giving away everything except my tools. Can't wait.

It’s unforgivable for the federal government to allow foreigners to take away the homes of hard working Aussies.

It's got to the point I'll be voting for Pauline, would've been insanity to consider that a few years back, but here we are.

The people responsible for this crisis must wake up every morning and go - " How can we screw the Aussie batler further this month?"

Never buy. Never get married no kids. Stay at you parents house never move out. Look after you parents. Work little holidays to Thailand. LIE FLAT LIFE. . Never borrow from bank. Do not become slave to the banks. Australia is too expensive to live. I go back to my village to India.

another excellent overview!!!! Seriously, i was annoying the crap out of people around me about this 20 years ago....and most peeps were too busy with easy money to give a crap. And now, after more than 20 years, the stupidity is coming home to roost....And you are absolutely right to lay this bollox at the feet of Howard - he was in power for far too long - and he ruined modern Australia. Shame my single vote wasn't enought to stop him! Anyway, I have been of the (very minority!) opinion that saving australia requires a housing market crash. It just has to happen. This market is so far beyond a ridiculous bubble it is almost unbelievable.---- I would love to see another option presented - so if anyone can show me an alternative, I am all ears...but I am not interested in wishful thinking. Australia's housing market has to correct, and we then need to rebuild a productive country for Australians, indigenous and otherwise....and not by selling rocks to China. We need real productivity and realistic taxation of the profits made from the resources that belong to us Australians not the frikkin corporates digging them is a LOT of work to do in Australia!

It’s got to be allowed to pop and come back to reality. If someone owns a home, and they wake up to find it’s lost 30% of value on paper….it has zero negative affect on them.

The Sad reality is the majority of us can no longer live where we want anymore. It is judged by your class and salary. The privileged few get to live in cities and by the beach. Enjoying a better lifestyle and access to better health, opportunities, prospects, schools. We are becoming a two tier society the Have and Have Nots

Hot tip: how will one know when the ponzi scheme will crash? It will be when the politicians realise that NG and CGT discount provisions will inevitably have to be changed, thereby starting the collapse of residential property prices.

The telltale will be when politicians that own multiple residential investment properties start quietly selling them off. That will be the signal that the game is up.
