I am going to be forever amused that there is a convertible in space. Like, I WANT to be annoyed, because I'm super annoyed by that disco ball, but those images of Starman driving a Tesla through space are so whimsical, I can't be.

Friend: "Elon, you need to help me hide this body! Somewhere no one will ever find it!"

Elon: "Let's shove the body in a space suit, stick the space suit in a Tesla and then launch the Tesla into heliocentric orbit!"

Friend: "What?"

Elon: "Hold my beer"

I live in NC but came to Vero Beach FL, to work awhile. My boss bought me tickets to watch SpaceX Falcon Heavy Launch at Kennedy Space Center. It was Awesome. I got to meet some of the Engineers and see the Rocket before it launched.

Elon Musk: Hey, you know what we should do?
Spacex: What?
Elon Musk: Put my car into space!
Spacex: Elon, no....
Elon Musk: Elon,

It's not really as big of a deal that the core didn't land properly as people think. The purpose of this test flight was to gain valuable information about the Falcon Heavy and it did that better than anyone really expected I believe. Also I'd like to point out that SpaceX wasn't going to be using any of the boosters on future missions again anyway since they're all block 4 and not block 5 which is the newest booster and thus not what they want to use for customer missions.

Just talking about the Falcon Heavy gave me goosebumps, because I was close enough to be able to see a speck in the sky from where I was (NE Florida).

what if elon musk just performed the perfect murder and there is a dead person in that tesla? :P

Officially, SpaceX is going to retire those side boosters. They are of an old design, and they want to phase it out.

The side boosters won’t be reused. They are of older design. The titanium grid fins were the most important items to recover on the other hand.

The falcon heavy launch being successful made me so, so happy. The second age of human space flight beyond LEO is here, and I can’t wait.

Wait, they actually launched a Tesla into orbit? I thought that was just the animation for entertainment purposes. I'm actually amazed.

SpaceX won’t reuse the boosters as they are older versions, but they will reuse specific parts such as the titanium grid fins as these are expensive.

They are not going to re-use those boosters.
The titanium grid fins on them, however, were what Elon Musk said were the most important things to recover!

Falcon Heavy is definitely one of this century's most profound achievements. And there is more to come. Go humans!

Gravitational lensing doesn't actually bend the light itself, but rather It bends the fabric of space in which the light travels in. It's like changing the riverbank so the water in it follows that new path. Rather quite cool :) Go science!

The boosters are version 3 falcon 9s which means they won’t be used again. From now on, SpaceX will be using version 5 falcon 9s.

Falcon heavy may be used for moon missions, but it won’t be used for mars missions. That title will go to the BFR, which will be the largest rocket ever made. It will be able to transport around 80 passengers per flight.

Hank you sound almost disappointed that it didn't blow up!

I just love how eerily similar Falcon Heavy's design is to what you'd do in Kerbal Space Program. Not enough power? moar boosters!

RIP Center Core. You made the ultimate sacrifice.
