The most powerful rocket ever developed is about to attempt a maiden launch.

Known as Starship, the rocket has been built by Elon Musk's SpaceX company.

It stands almost 120m (400ft) high and is designed to have almost double the thrust of any rocket in history.

Monday's uncrewed demonstration will lift off from Boca Chica in Texas, and plans to complete almost one full circuit of the globe.

Towards the moon, Mars and beyond. Good luck to everyone at SpaceX on Boca Chica. I’ve been following the development of Starship beginning with it’s completely different design and original name, it’s amazing to think we are now at this point. It has been so long, but at the same time it is still so short and everything all the other space industry leaders have previously done. One way or another, this is going to be something we will never forget.

BBC should have asked Musk about Starship and not tried to play word games in favor of suppressing speech British government doesn't like.

For anyone who doesn't know much about space. This is several generations beyond anything else in the world. Basically if SpaceX hadn't come along it would have taken probably another 100 years to develop something like this.

This rocket is crazy the fact it's even near take off already is mad. Love how they haven't even tested the booster but have enough money to stick a starship on top

Despite reservations for Elon Musk, I think what he has done by creating SpaceX and advancing space technology has contributed significantly to the advancement of humanity.

TO BBC No one gets how big this thing really is because reporters always talk about thrust and how tall it is. Each Starship that is the top part that goes to space. Has more cubic feet internal space than the whole ISS. I will repeat one single Starship has more pressurized internal space than the whole ISS.

Good luck to Captain Buck Rodgers. He'll make those Martians pay for threatening Earth with their death ray.

This is fantastic for science and engineering. If successful it could pave the way to mining Helium-3 on the moon, a gas used in nuclear fusion. 1 tonne of He-3 can produce 10, 000 MWe-y of electrical energy. It is rare on Earth but seems to be abundant on the Moon. We should be cheering Space X on not being bitchy about Elon Musk. His drive may help your grandchildren to have a future worth living.

How was Saturn V different from other rockets?
Image result for the satrun V rocket was unique rocket
Saturn V holds records for the heaviest payload launched and largest payload capacity to low Earth orbit: 310, 000 lb (140, 000 kg), which included the third stage and unburned propellant needed to send the Apollo command and service module and Lunar Module to the Moon.

Huzzah! Mankind aiming to grasp for the stars and courageously dreaming of a brighter and better future without being paralyzed by fear at the thoughts of our worldly limitations once again! This has renewed my faith in humanity! Elon and all those that have made it this far in this awe inspiring aspiration, all I can say is thank you!
