Marines with 3rd Radio Battalion complete the Reconnaissance Physical Assessment Test aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Jan. 6, 2016. The RPAT is a physical conditioning examination that tests the subject’s endurance and mental capabilities through various events – a 500 meter swim, calisthenics, 1.5 mile sprint, 12-mile hike with combat load and two completions of the obstacle course. When you look at the original concept for Radio Recon, it was tailor made for Force Recon, but the focus shifted from deep reconnaissance, surveillance and reporting to Direct Action missions. This began in the late 80’s. So what you have is Force Recon, Bn Recon, Radio Recon and MARSOC with similar missions, similar training, similar capabilities and redundancy. There’s just too much overlap and eventually someone is going to get canceled out, because of funding and stroking egos.

These are similar to the basic test of the RNLMC, Royal Netherlands Marine Corps. After completing 3 days of physical and mental assessments you will be get a check or x. You may try two times. After being selected 30 weeks of bootcamp/naval war training under any weather condition. In the 30 weeks if not in the field you get to go home in the weekends which per platoon varies some get leave earlier on Fridays some late on which you only have the Saturday because Sunday you mostly need to report early because fun has no time to wait. After completing 30 weeks you just earned the convented baret with bloodshot and anchor, but you are fully marine if you passed over the high peaks of Scotland and endured the blizzards up in arctic. From that day on you get the right to fully speak. Before that you need to keep an eye out for the E4 maffia’s and other shenanigans. And if you is a smart and funny guy you end up getting the cool stuff to do even in your first year. If you are bootlicker you will get to the title of chai boy and they will pimp you out. Anyways quite fun American marines look though I would like to see how we would fare against them in a 2 weeks milsim, which is a normal duration for a field exercise.

The title has a typo, it should be, "Radio Reconnaissance" it may give future Marines the wrong guidance if they want to try out to be Reconnaissance Marine.

You never know when you’re going to be in a war zone, and the enemy will demand you do push ups and sit ups. Always best to be prepared.

This Assessment Test should be conducted in Okinawa for 2 reasons. 1st they deploy there anyway and 2nd, the terrain is more suited for these types of assessments, due to the hills, valleys, and waterways etc.

If I’m not mistaken that’s for radio reconnaissance.

It's nice to see a recon marine with glasses, I was under the impression that you just have to have good vision

This is great.
The problem is, we don't lack enough physical training.
We lack brains.
Where's the testing on that shit?

Why not exceed the standard? Video? A big bag of chips? Cola?
WTF?!? Get some! Be deadly!
Drop your aim to the target in front of you!
Kill the enemy, until there is no more war, but peace.
