All the broken drills should be put into a resin tabletop and used in the office!

Was this dumb? Absolutely. Did I enjoy the shit out of it? Hell yeah! Keep the squirrel hut nutty!!

Clamp them in place, and let the motors fight. This bouncing, battery button hitting, and throwing in the air to land on it to lose is pointless.

if you do this again, zip tie the batteries in, and get rubber bands to pull the triggers, run a zip tie holding both sets of rubber bands extended so they don't engage the triggers. cut the zip tie and you're off to the races

Wranglerstar did a great drill competition years ago. Same idea, one shared bit but the drills weren’t allowed to flop around, they were held still until they either burnt up or had its guts stripped out by the other drill. Really informative actually, just drill to drill, no real variables like damage from flopping, batteries popping out, etc.

The makita death felt like one of those fights in movies where the new hotshot fights the old master, and while you can see the old master's skill, the hotshot just wins because of their youth.

The safety systems of the better drills messed with your testing:
1. The restart protection prevents the drill from starting unexpectedly, when a battery is inserted. Normally, the user doesn't intend anything to happen, just by inserting a battery. The intend is given by freshly pulling the trigger, so the drills make you actually do that. So this is a pretty useful feature (under normal circumstances).
2. The blinking that some stopped drills did indicates an activated kickback control. The drill senses that it was rotating around itself and rather than break your arm, it shuts itself off. That really saved me a few times when a drill bit got suddenly stuck in the wall with a powerful drill. That can really mess up your arm, but my Bosch drill shuts itself off after around 25° rotation, which is pretty cool.

That Makita v.s. Kobalt battle was so long, I thought they were gonna cut to an Applebee's commercial.

If you end up doing this again, i recommend ziptieing the batteries on as well

I'm glad you changed the spanish dubbing company, I'm from Mexico and now it sounds amazing! A while ago, I didn't even bother to watch it in Spanish for a minute

Kobalt is my preferred tool brand because they're so "middle of the road", every time Project Farm tests tools Kobalt is always middle of the pack.

I’m honestly surprised at how hard some of these drills fought before giving out. It gives me more faith in these things.

I have been a Bosch fanboy for years! Glad to see it do so well.
I would be interested in seeing a competition with the top brands using their top level products.

I'd argue that the batteries disengaging after impact may be a design feature of the drills. If you drop a drill from a height and the battery separates, It definitely reduces the force of impact/absorbs a portion of the force.

Several years ago, my old lady bought me an 18v Bosch two pack; Drill and Impact Drivers. I used the impact driver at work and was very unimpressed. The 12 volt Bosch impact driver seemed stronger so, I took the 18v back home and I brought the drill to work. Other then having to tighten the brushes, which is done very easily from the outside; it is still going and I'm happy with it. Its reliable, even saturated with oil! 🤷‍♂️👍
