What Would Happen If We Could Travel at Light Speed?

Higher, faster, farther: In modern times, we are generally eager to get from A to B faster than ever before. While the high-performance airplanes and trains of the modern era have already been able to achieve remarkable speed records, the question arises: what is the limit of the speed of transportation? Would it even be theoretically possible to race through space at the speed of light? What would really happen if a solid object could move as fast as light, we’ll reveal to you now in this video!

Amazing how light speed is extremely slow when traveling in the universe!
We are never going to get anywhere until we figure out how to avoid the traveling through space and have the ability to travel between it

How about focusing on taking care of our own planet. Spend all that money on dealing with the Drug Problem and all the IMMORAL DECADENT LIFESTYLES.

The nearest star is 4 light years away…. Travelling at the speed of light stars wouldn’t zoom past us???? It would take us 4 years just to get to the closest star!!!

Wait. So a person traveling 4 light years away at 99.9% the speed of light will experience on 14 days elapsed?

Just imagine if we had vehicles we could get in and go somewhere thousands of miles away in 10 mins and eat lunch and back home for a good nap.

We would travel at the speed of light

I'll bet that 500 years from now, people will look at this very same video and laugh about how primitive these predictions are

The speed of light is actually very slow for space travel; I hitched a ride on a photon from the sun to Jupiter(Youtube video) recently and it took me 45 min

Nothing with mass can travel at the speed of light.

I'd say it's impossible. I think we would have to crumble in to a molecule to hit the speed

What would happen if an object with mass could travel at light speed? Splat will do the object with mass against a solid immovable universe in front of it. In other words the objects mass grows to infinity in two dimensions.

I believe it’s possible to get from here to there faster than the speed of light through Quantum entanglement

Why do scientists say things are impossible then 10 years later they say it's possible?

Actually faster than light (FTL) speed is theoretically possible.

I forget his name but a Mexican physicist first did the math, showing that the equations would work. Basically if you could create a gravity well in front of a space craft, the ship would move in the gravity wake. Think of a sheet of rubber with a ball on it, push down on the sheet and the ball moves towards the dip. So if a singularity were in front of a space craft, and said singularity was moving, the space craft would move. The stronger the singularity, the faster you move. This does not violate Relativity as the craft itself is not moving, just the singularity.

Of course the problem is (1) how to create a singularity and (2) having the crew survive the gamma rays that will be emitted. At least it's not "impossible" right? :)

I've been skipping over you many many times I'm giving you another chance all the screw-ups about (sometimes even simple) facts that you have made when you first started shied me away from you!!! first of all your intro is way too long 30 seconds tops not over a minute I'll check out the rest of the video good luck

Light itself isn't even the speed of light. If you can, imagine that!!! Yet they refer to it as a constant at its peek potential. Tisk, tisk, doesn't travel at the same rate in water as it does within our atmosphere and it doesn't travel at the same rate within our atmosphere as it does within a vacuum. Even different levels of a vacuum have different rates. actually never ever even experienced the true speed of light because we've never experienced a Perfect Earth or in space. Well, only on paper to derive a concept, but not within our physical reality!!! So, to use it as a constant.... is just downright being intellectually dishonest.

I think this will be my last video "can we travel at the speed of light" NO you can't. It will never happen and it can't happen. Lets say some smart whoever designed a space craft to travel at say 4 times the speed of light. Now with the average star being say 1000 light years away, it would take you 250 years just to get there, but most are a lot further away than that.
Also you must take into account you just can't accelerate instantly from zero to the speed of light. You and your fancy space craft would be squashed completely flat. It would take around 6 months to a year to accelerate to light speed at a G force that a human body could withstand, also up to 4 years for 4 times light speed, now double that to stop at the other end.
So all this travel at light speed is a total waste of time, it's all BS, because light speed is just plainly far to slow to get anywhere in this vast universe.

Well alpha centari is coming at us. You did not figure in that. For everything else the universe is expanding. At what speed ? Near the speed of light? So?if you travel at the speed of light? Could you actually make it somewhere?
