my referencing is correct but I'm still having my CSS not applying to my html

This didn't help me. I have placed the link within the head after an indent; both the css and html files are in the same directory; the filename is correct; I have tried with and without using the type attribute; I have cleared the cache; I have set encoding to UTF-8 for both HTML ( <meta charset="UTF-8"> ) and CSS ( @charset "UTF-8"; ) and still it doesn't work. Internal style sheet works fine.

Thank you brother, you don’t understand just how much you helped me, I would’ve spent hours trying to figure this out on my own but with your help I did this in less than a minute

I've all the files in the same folder and pasted the right file name. The problem is when I do a new project the CSS file works properly. But next time it doesn't work. Changing the file name solves the problem but again it'll not work next time. So I'll have to keep changing the CSS file name. Please give any solution 🙏😭.
