We used to do this in art class. The point of it is to loosen up with less time. To find the parts that build what you’re drawing things. It’s fantastic for figure drawing.

I've done something like this in art class too, but the other way around: Starting with 10-15 secs., and then building up time up to 10 minutes or more. That way, you get the rush of adrenaline when trying to make something is such little time that help you loosen up, and then you can calm down and appreciate how much time 10 minutes really is.

This is such a brilliant idea! Thanks for presenting it so beautifully in your video. 😊 I have always loved doing house drawings, and have done many commissions of them, but I think doing this challenge is a great way to interject some more fun into it and the time limit I think pushes you out of your comfort zone a little but also gets you more in touch with your intuitive drawing. I love drawing animals and will use this type of challenge drawing them too.
For adding color to your drawing (like the 10 minute one, since you had time left after quickly getting the initial sketch down), I’d use markers. Copics or something similar. But I’m sure you’d have to use different paper. Thanks again for another inspiring video Minnie.

You are so organized and have a particular reason for things but really, the challenge is just for fun! Doesn't always have to have "value". However, it definitely teaches how to think fast and be quicker with getting ideas down! Nice pieces, they look great together.

Might give this challenge a go! Looks like for the 10s one you have about 10 line strokes to get the drawing done! I imagine it also trains you to become faster at picking key components and what 'makes' the shape recognisable. Happy new year and keep it up! :)

Loved the video! I have done this in the past with intervals of 5, 3, 1, 30 sec, and 10 second intervals. Once you get to the 10 seconds, go back and allow yourself more time. See how moving quicker will allow for more detail in the same amount of time.

Loved this video Minnie! I did some kind of 10min challenge when I was studying. For a whole day, we always got only a few minutes to create an object/piece of jewelry with all the materials available at the studio. It was super fun, but also a lot of stress :) ! most of the things I made were very ugly pieces, but some became the initial ideas for new jewelry designs. Thanks for reminding me, I'm going to do a challenge like this soon!
