N - refurbished devices have to be fully inspected before they are sold, and they have brand new Body, Screen, Battery, Cable, and Box. Brand new devices don't have such rigorous QA. But you can alwyas use the warranty within 1 year, 2 with apple care, or 5 years for free in the UK from which business sold it to you (even without apple care, under the recent Consumer Law protections)

I’ve received a couple of replacement iPhones, all of them are designated as replacements, which are set aside during production, and are put in more simplistic packaging. If the phone is refurbished, it will show that with an F in the model number.

How about a replacement unit within a month of the model’s launch? It can’t be refurbished right with such a short time right?

I have experienced Iphone 8+ replacement model because I drop it and claim my warranty. Overall it feels same and have been using it for couple years it was good performance. But yeah one thing that I feel different is when I touch the body it feels different with the my original 8+. Very slightly different when I touch the back. It looks the same glass but is less slippery. But yeah once you got replacement because serviced you need to start lowering expectation this one not original model like first time and you still can use it.

All refurbished ive had, have worked fine. Still a brand new phone just some used genuine parts

They don’t just give refurbished phones my guy. And when they do all refurbished phones, have new front and back glass new battery and new metal banding.

Need a help !
I have placed a replacement for my iphone 13 pro on apple service centre as my iphone was heavily damaged, to which repair was not possible and i had to pay money for full unit replacement.
I am afraid that they don’t handover a refurbished unit to me anyhow, how could i be fully assured or are there any checks for confirmation of that replaced unit being brand new .
Will be getting the unit tomorrow. Kindly share if you have any correct information

Too be honest i actually don't mind the refurbished iphones as long as they have a brand new battery and outside casing. I've had to replace my iphone 3 times already under apple care and haven't had any problems with software. Just me dropping it in the pool drunk or cracking the back glass into a billion pieces

Hello after 2 years. I have Iphone 14 pro and it's apple care plus ends on February 2025, phone is fine, but battery is draining fast and 83%. till February 2025, I believe it will not go below 80% (for free replacement). it will cost me 99$ to replace battery later on. I was thinking to use my apple care plus before February as Accidental damage and replace it for 99$. Would you recommend me to do so? now 16 series are available. thanks in advance for an honest advice!!!

Replacement models are brand new. They are specially set aside during production, meaning they are packaged in a simpler box with no accessories. They aren’t refurbished.

I bought a new 14 pro max and model number starts with N but when i activated it the coverage shows warranty for 1 year…..what does that mean. Is it refurbished?

At least local athorized service centre claims apple produce equivalent amount of phone or some ratio for ac+ claim comes with different packing which can be opened in front of the user if required . Mostly it's new or changed housing or what ever. As long its works out of box like new then should be okay instead of shelling out more than 60% of original cost its fraction say 5%-10% of original amt. It's time to take care your phone like jewel . Accidents happens no one can avoid. Use case and protector even then if fails then its not in any one hands

Any law suit I was expecting a new one or new replacement since I’m only one generation behind I use do that back in the day that was called real insurance or warranty 😅

That’s not true, N is a replacement device and might be new or refurbished, like if you have a replacement iPhone 15 now starts with a N, it would still be brand new as the 15 models have been out a month, no way they will have the time to recondition any used iPhone 15.
