James, somebody gave me a beautiful old high-quality vintage jaffel iron. And today I designed and made a BEAUTIFUL jaffel iron adaptor for my gas bottle from the top five centimetres of a big coffee can. It also perfectly fits a tiny frying pan and tiny saucepan I have. I made two. The first one was DREADFUL. The second one is a work of art. I spent the time thinking about you and thanking God for your inspiration!

I used to have am old military can opener that i could have on a key ring. Loved that little sucker. Confused people at work by opening a can of corn on the factory floor. Loved it

You impressed me so much for admitting you messed up. Not many people have the brains or the guts to do that. It bothered me the first time I watched your Mulligan stew video but I'm an old nerd who collects old can openers and cutlery. I really enjoy your videos keep up the great work.

Way to go James! You have redeemed yourself! Besides you just aren't old enough to have used this type of opener. . .
Unlike some of us old codgers! You are a very humble and self deprecating guy and your genuine nature always shines through! All the best to you and your family!😁

James, you're an upstanding young man. Thanks for coming back to show us "the right way" to use that opener. I'm sure you're not the only one that might have guessed wrongly!

Remember them growing up...the one we used had a corkscrew that would fold out...I am 68 so that was a while ago....enjoy the videos

Nice. I appreciate someone who admits to mistakes.
I saw the video and knew that just couldn’t be right, but I didn’t know how either, so I didn’t say anything. I don’t use many cans, but my home opener is actually an old Swiss Army knife. Best manual opener I’ve ever tried. With a little practice, it can go pretty fast

I've seen these a lot in old Loony Toons cartoons like the goofy gophers and such and always wondered how they worked. It always seemed so effortless in the old cartoons. Thanks for this!

Country auctions were always a favorite before I relocated to SE Asia for early retirement. Winning a box lot of kitchenware offered many wonderful surprises such as this fine old can opener. Thank you James for showcasing yet another happy memory for me.

LOL, I had hoped no one else had noticed. I grew up using the old can opener and laughed my sox off when I saw you. I appreciate your ability to admit failure and straighten things up. That makes you a number 1 guy God Bless, Frank.
