There was no visible damage to my bike, but at the time, I wasn’t sure. If the driver had stopped, I could have checked the tail section to confirm nothing was broken and left it at that.

I didn’t perform an emergency stop. I was already slowing down for the level crossing and was going about 5 mph when the car beeped at me. I then gently stopped to turn around and hear what he had to say—before he hit me.

I don’t believe I overreacted when he pulled out on me. All I did was rev the bike as he crossed the white line, because if he had stayed on course, he would have hit me. After that, I simply shook my head—he’s the one who escalated the situation.

I also didn’t “chase him down.” I followed him while riding normally so I could report his actions to the police. And when they told me to stop following him, I did.

I called the police immediately because I had just been hit by a car that fled the scene—not because I “wanted drama for subs.” If that were my goal, I could’ve reacted way differently. Instead, I gave him two chances to stop. He didn’t.

Lastly, I wanted to make sure his license plate was recorded, because at that point I wasn’t even sure if my camera had been recording properly.
