Clicked on the video because I'm an antiques nerd, but ended up in tears. I suffer from depression and anxiety, and though my living space has never gotten to this level, I empathize so deeply with what this person/persons were going through. Living with mental illness makes it so easy for things to just start piling up and then the mess itself causes you stress, which then worsens the whole cycle. On one side, I'm like "how could this person let it get so bad?" but on the other, I know what it feels like to get stuck in a riptide of illness, using all the energy you have just to keep your head above water

Dont donate the sewing stuff. Put it in the auction. Vintage sewing stuff sells. Especially old patterns

This appears to be the house of a talented and creative person who aged in place and probably didn't have someone who cared enough to help with housekeeping. Respect for this person's life and love of music and beauty is necessary .

The fact you couldn't see the amount of money sat in just the clothes and books stresses me out!!! Vintage fashion, craft supplies and especially fashion books are worth so much 😭

This is a incredibly clean hoard. At one time the owner was organized and in control. Makes one wonder what the sad story behind this mess.

I am SCREAMING at that treasure of vintage clothing. For real, that's worth a fortune

I’m having palpitations watching you going through all the clothes, shoes and purses. Please be careful with it all. It’s all very valuable. The vintage costume jewelry alone!

This house is a museum. The clothes are very elegant and the furniture is beautiful... Things like this can't be found easily. The paterns, bags, shoes, fabric, suitcases. The jeans!!! So much good stuff.

Dear Santa, it's been a rough year so far. I don't need much for Christmas...world peace, an end to the horrible virus, and about an hour of treasure discovery videos per day from CI.

This house clearly belonged to an artistic and talented lady. She has a lot of lovely collectibles and clothes. It’s too bad the clutter spiralled out of control but for some of her collections, I can see why she had a hard time letting go.

I wish this person had written down her autobiography. She seems like a fascinating person who lived a very full life. So much fashion and travel, so many interests and hobbies. I bet she had stories for years. Thanks for letting her home tell us a little bit of those stories.

The best thing is that we can trust you to treat the former resident with respect!

Oh, by the way. The wealthiest self made millionaires I ever met were an elderly married couple who lived next door to me. They owned a resale shop in Chicago where they sold everything. But where they REALLY made all their money was in cleaning out old homes. Brenda had an encyclopedic memory of what everything cost new and what it was worth at resale. She also had a VAST network of vintage dealers, all over the country, that she re-sold to. Brenda and her husband lived a very simple working class lifestyle. Never went out to eat. Never went to movies. No drinking. No drugs. Neither had an education past 8th grade. When they finally retired (gave their business to their daughter, who had earned an MBA living at home on the parents’ dime) Brenda and Husband were worth $5M USD cash.

As a vintage clothing seller, you have NO IDEA how much I wish I was there with you looking through all those clothes!

This house is my dream. If you found even 1 of those high end items in a normal hoarder house, you got lucky. Everything in this house has value. It's amazing and beautiful.

The person who lived in that house must have been insanely creative.

This is like my dream come true. A house full of hidden treasures and stories of the past! Love it!

I love that you rescue the hoarded items before fixing the house. I am always bothered by the HGTV shows that never save anything. They shovel it all out and into the dumpster. Who knows what they have discarded.

This breaks my heart. It seems to me this was a very passionate person with a love for life. Something might have happened to her that made her want to cling to things, It seems that her life spiraled out of control and she was too lost in it all to know what to. She might have known she had to do something, but couldn't find out how. It's really sad when clinging onto stuff out of pain ruins you from having joy in the present.
