Your video potentially saved my life! Had I not watched this and purchased a voltage tester because you recommended it, I would have gotten shocked. Our old GFI (that failed) was on a different breaker than it was labeled in our breaker box so it was still live when I started working on it. 😬 Testing the voltage on the contact screws inside revealed that it was still getting power and that I had unknowingly turned off the wrong breaker.

For what it’s worth- to further clarify the line load difference in case people get confused, the load carries the power load to other outlets which the GFCI protects, while the line carries the power in from the main lines. Easy to remember it that way in case your gfci loses the sticker explaining it or you forget which wires are which and need to turn the power back on with it all unwired to recheck which should go to the line. Good to know they reversed which wires are which. I didn’t know that was switched around on older to newer gfci’s.

Oh man, you saved the day by pointing out the reversed Line/Load configuration of the new replacement outlet. Took it out, flipped it over and voila. The 3 vids before yours did NOT mention this critical fact. Thank you!
