The same thing happened to me on Oct/23 at Metro in Ottawa. My wallet was stolen from my purse right before me and I didn't see them do it. The store has a video of the whole theft, the person is easily identified in the video. I filed a police report. The police NEVER bothered to contact the store for the video.

That's just the beginning of various styles of pick-pocketing that originated from Asia, mainly from the Philippines. They call that " Budol. " They usually work with 3 or 4 accomplices to distract you.
