For over 60 years, Denny’s has been an integral part of American diner culture. Known for its signature Gland Slam breakfast and its 24-hour availability, nearly everyone from cross-country truckers to hungover college students has had a Denny’s experience.

But there’s more to the chain than just its extensive, readily available menu. Beyond the milkshakes and Moons Over My Hammy plate, Denny’s has an interesting story to tell, and there’s plenty about this famous fast casual breakfast chain that may come as a surprise. From its ridiculously priced $300 breakfast to its recent focus on animal welfare, this is the untold truth of Denny’s.

Every Denny’s I know went to shit and eventually closed down.

Our local Denny's had some real spotty service. Sometimes when we went in, it would be pretty decent. Other times, we would walk in -- on a slow night! -- and wait 5 minutes before someone finally came out to seat us, the only diners waiting. While I enjoyed the food, I'm not going to miss the at times crapful service.

The last time I went to Denny's, I was disappointed at the quality of my meal. Haven't went back since then.

I went to Denny's for decades but they BLAST the music too loud. I guess they wanna make the customers deaf. We won't go there anymore.

Its been a while since I have been to a Dennys as there are none anywhere near me.. Boy do I wish there where a Dennys here though. There are some great breakfast places here but my favorite breakfast is exactly Dennys fare style breakfast and Smitty's does not even come close. At least it was always hot at Dennys.

I reckon they should bring back the donuts with their coffee, to compete with Dunkin' and Tim Hortons. I mean, they are a family restaurant that profits of competition with every other restaurant out there, after all.
