For those having trouble seeing the onion option you need to go through the activation process of this feature via your Atomos account it's not enough just to install the update.

Thats actually amazing! I already own a Ninja V and just stumbled upon your video. Never would I have had the idea to update it's firmware without you. But man I already love this feature without having tried it out yet. Thanks for the info!

Was on this so fast, thanks to an email notification direct from Atomos. I'm so impressed with the continual firmware updates to the Ninja V despite it's age on the market.

I always missed this feature from my Canon T3i with Magic Lantern. So glad to see it's back on the Ninja V.

Onion Skin = Translucent Overlay. Onion Skinning as a technique has been around for 100 years. It's literally how hand animations, such as those Disney would produce, are made.

What a timely released video. I am picking up a Ninja V tomorrow, and I would’ve not thought about upgrading the firmware without stumbling across your video. This feature will be so helpful, and you made me feel just a little better investing in this monitor! Thank you!

I have updated to the latest firmware but don't have any of these settings

So, you're telling me that all those sneaky transitions I've seen you do are manual? And you only now got this new way to do them? Okay, that's really impressive! Fortunately, the Ninja V is on my Christmas list and I'll have to keep using my a7IV articulating screen until then. But that's not so bad, right? Thanks for another bullet point on my list of reasons I need a Ninja!

Brilliant explanation and practical example! I can now feel confident on set that things will line up in post. Thank you for that. : )

⚠️HELLO I need your help. I own a Ninja V and a Sony A7IV. I mostly record in ProRes LT but I’m always stuck at UHD 25fps. You somehow managed to set it up to HD 23.98fps. How do you change resolution and frame rate?⚠️

Dope! Definitely gonna make sure I update mine!

Any option to record with different aspect ratio directly from ninja?

Can you import any PNG into the atomos ninja V and use it as a reference for overlaying a live feed? This would help when I need to place a motorcycle or car into a stock image and match the perspectives perfectly so there is less work to be done in post. The target use case is stills photography and not video.

Do you know of another monitor (it could be from another brand) that has this function?

Would have been so helpful for a project I’m doing

Any idea why the feature would be missing from my monitoring options? I had 10.74, updated to 10.83, and in both cases, those 2 options are missing. 🤔
