Honestly, I know it's all very subjective, but after years of watching tutorials and experimenting on my own, I've gotten to more or less this exact solution for EQing kick drums, regardless of genre this is what works best for me. Wish I found this video sooner. Glad to know I'm on the right track! 🙂

The only additional thing I might suggest, is rolling off the highest frequencies as well. Whether you're working in dance or trap or pop or whatever, I just never see the need for those! :D
