About the Montana Brand Tools Diamond Tile Drill Bit:
Montana Brand Diamond Tile drill bits provide outstanding performance in ceramic, porcelain, granite, slate, marble, glass and most all hard surface materials. Drill holes for water supply lines, drains, electrical/wiring, towel bars, and fixture installations. Also great for glass and decorative crafts.

These tools were designed and manufactured by Rocky Mountain Twist in Ronan, MT, USA.

Our products were originally produced for industrial-grade applications such as aerospace. When we decided to also offer consumer products, we did not refit the Montana factory to produce lower quality consumer-grade products; rather, a majority of our consumer products (ie, Montana Brand Tools) are actually industrial grade.

Beautiful! I haven't found a need yet for a tile drill bit, but I promise this will be the brand I get when I do.

So let me see you do it vertically like we’re all needing to do it.

I bought some Bosch glass and tile bits for drilling drainage holes... I think I need a different bit?! Sigh!

That helps a lot. Now I know how to make the holes in the bottom of the ceramic planters that I need drainage holes in since I'll be using them with succulents. I do have one question though. Would I use the same method for drilling a similar hole in glass? I have some glass planters that also need drainage holes but I'm not sure if that's done the same way or not.

Good idea with the putty. How about drilling on a wall? Anything better than a spray bottle?

If you're drilling an unused tile, would you recommend starting on the unfinished side, or does that lead to chipping on the finished side?

Great vid! What screw size do you recommend for mounting bathroom accessories onto a tile wall?

Bought a set of Hillman anchors for tile but realized the screw is pretty long (1-7/8") . I don't want to risk screwing into a Romex cable, what size should I get instead?

The anchor is 1 1/8 "

I'm considering getting 1 3/8" or 1/ 1/2".

When you finish drilling the first hole you have the plug of tile stuck in the bit, and that will prevent you from drilling the second hole. How do you get that plug out? I damaged my bit by trying to use a screwdriver to pry it out.

These are the purpose built type of bits they don't sell at the home depot 🤣

Yeah, try doing the same into a porcelain tile 😀😀

How often are holes drilled in tile on a flat surface? Appreciate the video, but would prefer more practical example with vertical tile. Likely answer is just have someone else spray water while you drill. Again, good video, just prefer more typical use-case.

That being said and that being said. Lots of repeats before doing anything!

will this kind of drill bit go through stainless steel?

I'm sure this has been answered before; if it has feel free to direct me to the video, but I need to know:

Wouldn't it be ideal to just have every drill (or lathe for that matter) bit being of diamond material? You'd reduce breaking it to a minimum. Sure it may be costly, but it sounds like a perfect solution to me, having broken several bits before.

If that's the case, why aren't diamond bits seen more often?

Why can't you just fill the damn with a millimeter or two of water so it's continuously wet?
