Article 13 Explained in 180 Seconds - Article 11 and 13, now renamed 15 and 17, have just passed in the EU. Article 11 is the "Link Tax", and Article 13 being the "Meme Ban". In this video, I explain both articles 11 and 13. Article 13 could destroy the internet. Article 13 Explained for dummies basically.

If you missed it, a day or so ago the European Union passed Article 13, and in this video, I’m going to be breaking down everything you need to know in 180 seconds, so let’s get into it.

There are actually two Articles regarding copyright reform that were trying to be passed in the EU. Those two being Article 11, and Article 13.

Article 11 being the “link tax”, and Article 13, now renamed to Article 17 for the purposes on a new draft, is the quote on quote “meme ban”

And thats, not an understatement.

Good analysis. Great edit. Right now we have no way of anticipating exactly how Article 13 will be implemented over the next few years. Upload filters? Maybe. Use a VPN? It won’t matter where you upload from because your banned content simply won’t be shown in the EU. It’s an ll advised set of regulations which will benefit mostly large corporations generating their own content.
