As a layman with poor knowledge of biology, thanks for explaining not just that he's wrong but how he's wrong. When guys like that throw out these terms, many people are going to assume he's smart because of that. But he probably just read something else that someone said and is parroting them. Or he's heard some (but not enough) information to form his conclusions. One thing I noticed in the graphics: IgG2 and IgG4 look exactly alike. I see in the next slide that they act differently, IgG4 especially. I wanted to confirm that they look the same and it's not just an error. Not for any particular reason other than curiousity.

As an MD, I was horrified that Weinstein, apparently a biologist, disseminated information about a vaccine without understanding immunology. Disseminating misinformation on public health topics, whether it’s Trump advising people drink bleach or these lies of Weinstein, should obligate that person by law to either attend education on the subject or formally recant.

I hadn't realized Brett was an evolutionary biologist. Has he forgotten what he learned in Biology 101? Granted, an evolutionary biology would be working mostly at a different level with genes but surely he was taught the basics of immunology, no? Regardless, if people hear he's a biologist, they're more likely to believe him because viruses and such would seem to be in his wheelhouse. We're expecting people who haven't taken biology themselves to know the difference between the fields. Dr. Wilson, maybe you could do a video on the differences between your field and other fields that are passing on information. For example, why an evolutionary biologist, even though a biologist, doesn't understand the basic understanding of the immune system or if he should but doesn't. Maybe even explain how biology is subdivided into different fields. If you have discussed this already, I apologize.
