“this film is not yet rated” is something on all movies before release date. Having periods shouldn’t be a controversial topic; almost every girl goes through one. showing it through tv movies or shows is kinda a great way to let little kids know it’s nothing to be ashamed about, because many of them are embarrassed.

Turning red also had a big scene about periods... I think it's great more kids movies are touching on this subject, some kids as young as 10 or even under can get them and it's a perfectly natural process, not something to be ashamed about. Society not talking about it only teaches kids that periods are gross and, by proxy, their own body is gross. Considering periods are already hard enough (bloating, cramps, mood swings, cravings, body aches, etc) especially when discovering them for the first time when you're already in a really hectic time of your life and just entering puberty, seeing kids your age talk about them on movies, validate your fears and make you realize it's normal and not something to be ashamed of is awesome.

My main issue is poeple say the "evidence" of riley being gender neutral is the different gendered emotions but the reason of the other emotions being different gendered is character design anger is angry business man fear a cowardly dork, disgust a snobbish teenager girl etc

I’m just glad Riley is Riley and that’s all that matters.

“Film not yet rated” appears in all early trailers.

Honestly I hope they do touch on the topic of menstruation. It’s a normal function and shouldn’t be shushed just cause it’s “disgusting” or “inappropriate” it’s not inappropriate. And stating it as such just makes young girls feel ashamed or embarrassed of having their periods. Plus if the movie dives into puberty, then it would be weird if they didn’t mention periods since it’s like the first thing people think of when it comes to female puberty lol

My theory is that Riley gets her emotions from her mom and dad but as she grows into her own person her emotions will start to actually look like her like the parents

The simple answer is that they already designed Riley’s emotions and later decided to make the mom and dads emotions specific genders

I was 17 when Inside Out was released; just graduated from high school, 8 years ago. I'm 26 now.❤❤😅

As someone who has diagnosed anxiety disorder... why couldn’t it have just been portrayed as fear?

Inside Out came out when I was fifteen years old. Now I'm 24 and I'm excited to see this film.

Ah yes. We all know, you only can start puberty when you turn 13.

I remember when inside out first came out and just the title was written on the movie theatre display sign and I thought it was going to be a horror movie

“WhY iS eVeRyOnE tAlKiNg AbOuT iNsIdE oUt 2” hmmmm maybe it’s cause it’s a sequel to a goated movie, also anxiety exists.

I think it’s fine to talk about “the time of the month” because in the Netflix show “The Babysitter’s Club” one of the characters gets her period at her mom’s wedding, and her friends actually give her a pad.

How dare you question Riley's gender. Her emotions are set apart from everyone else's because she is the main character. Her gender is obviously female.

In the movie joy says “What could happen to our little girl?” So i dont think she is

she's just hitting puberty. it doesn't mean she's trans or lesbian, she's just hitting puberty. can't it just be that simple?
