Hmmm, more than a hint of ennui there in that skit, Mr. Letterman, am I wrong? I can't be of course, I'm the public. You guys should have at least tried to pep it up by using one of my own and I'm sure many, many others old reliable scary favorites, which is standing in a darkened ladies guest vanity or master bedroom bath upstairs at a Halloween party, and when the door is opened quickly rip off the mask and turn on the flashlight under your chin and smile and say, very softly, (remember they're right there; they can hear you): 'Happy Halloween'. I gave up coming to the door on Halloween when the children started screaming at me when I opened the door and giving me their candy instead of vice versa. A net gain. That told me something. So did my annual holiday waist line expansion and that annoying, although tolerable, sugar high.
