I was a BMW guy. When I drove the Model 3 that loyalty went out the window. Model 3 is outselling the 3 series by a large margin. The 3 series used to be the best selling in its class.

After AI day it became clear to GM and Ford that Tesla will eventually solve self driving. GM and Ford sales will get hit hard. That's why the government is investigating Tesla FSD to slow them down. And avoid many UAW job loses and their supplier loses.

Everyone is underestimating China. Tesla takes the higer end, China the low to mid, leaving nothing for the legacy brands.

When you are drowning and gasping for each breath, you don’t care who is helping you or how they are helping you….even is the alligator, you are grabbing for may eat you!

If the legacy automakers are losing money on each EV the sell, and ICE car sales are plummeting, they will want the EV tax credit, even if it will help their competitors more. They want to survive today and worry about Tesla tomorrow….

Karma says it's GM. In November of 2003, GM repossessed its entire fleet of EV1s and crushed them in a yard next to the track the EV1 was tested on while customers held a candlelight vigil.

My guess would be GM because from my experience they build the worst cars. It's looking the same with EVs (Bolt).

There was a time when Ford was the most vertically integrated company on the planet. at the Rouge plant they made steel, they made glass, they made almost every part of the car on site at the old rouge plant. Tesla's Vertical intragration mimics Ford in the early days. Ford lost there way. OEM's made it eaiser, also made Ford Stupider.

Toyota is so reserved they will remain the number 1 auto maker — just because they don’t show their hand every two seconds doesn’t mean they aren’t creating the products to be competitive. Similar to Apple — they focus on profit margin, quality, and products that are meaningful.

Many BMW enthusiasts bounced to Tesla. Their ugly designs and disappointing EV tech will cause them to be one of the first to go bankrupt.

Anecdote about BMW:
I've owned nothing but BMWs for over a decade, 6 different models. I have an i3 and X5 diesel right now. I'm 100% sure I'm buying a Tesla next. It's about engineering and UX (software). The majority of BMW buyers are brand snobs, and Tesla is the new game in town. BMW sales are going to fall off a cliff.

I'm buying more TSLA on Monday. I went to Chevy dealership and they had NO cars for sale. Only a few pickup trucks. Prices are too high also. The chip shortage is a national emergency and Biden isn't doing anything about it.
