You can do a quick soak too. Rinse as explained. Bring to rapid boil for 2 mins. Turn off for an hour leave in water. After an hour drain water. Add room temp water and bring back to boil until tenda! I do it all the time works just as well

1:10 They do not in fact come out of the ground. But yes, rinse them before the first soak.

Thanks girl... I was hoping to make them now and eat them now, didn't know it was an over night thing.. Good to know, I guess I will just order pizza tonight for dinner and have my kidney beans tomorrow after they are soaked over night

Ummm beans do not come out of the ground. They grow in pods like peas.

They DON'T come out of the ground. They grow above the ground on a stem. However they do collect some dirt and rocks when they are thrashed.

For the last 3 years I been getting this 3 bean salad in a tin, one of which is kidney beans. Usually have them with rice and put hoisin sauce on them. I had some last night and today have the same symptoms of food poising. Never had an issue before, can just 1 that happened to not get cooked be the real for my FP? Tin says only to cook for a few minutes as well.

Step 1: Remove rocks. Seriously, you could crack a tooth.

Spread the dried beans out, one layer thick, on a plate or cookie sheet. Carefully skim through and remove any rocks and undersized or broken beans.

Good advice here only think I use the wrong kind of calendar, although I can tell you things like what day of the week the 4th of July falls on this year, most of my kidney beans dropped off into the garbage disposal

One to three hours...I thought mine were just not fresh. I went an hour and thought these are just not fresh and tossed them. I'll try it again in my Dutch for a couple of hours on a good boil and see what happens. I trust these people on Ehow, I should have watch this before trying out kidney beans.

Well, after learning that i needed to walk pass the canned beans at the store aisle in order to cool dry beans, I still don't know what temperature to put them on and if I should cover them or not.
