Finally someone with common sense. I am one of those who decided to be single and I've been single for almost 5 years now, BY CHOICE. And I am planning to stay like that for the rest of my life, my kid and my family are okay with that. If I ever decide to get another kid I will go to sperm bank or adopt. There's so much more to life than being in a relationship. Sadly, many people dont realize that.

I’m 55 and have made the decision to be single for life. It’s certainly less expensive and guaranteed to be drama free.
My Grandmother was widowed at 47 and remained mate free for life. She was beyond wise and very happy.

My life philosophy is simple: No marriage, no long term relationships, no cohabiting. Special focus on my mental health (peace of mind, low stress levels), physical fitness, finances and hobbies. Become the best version of myself. Establish and maintain good relationships with people of interest. Give back to the community whenever possible and self update through learning new stuff.
Romantic relationships are overrated.

Been single for 2.5 years. I've paid off 20k in credit card debt, paying off my house and funding my retirement. My son is high school and I have PEACE. Once you realize nothing is worth compromising your mental health for then you become really happy single. I can't cash in my contentment for cancer. Relationships are great but my single life is one big fun adventure.

I just turned 61 and have been single and celibate since 46. I'm considered an attractive women, educated, smart, independent. with common sense. Married at 16 and did the roller coaster ride with men for 30 years. At this point in my life I don't care to have a mans opinion of me. Nor do I want to try and make room in my life for one. I really don't think there is anyone out there that could even come close to giving what I give in a relationship.Sometimes the fantasy that society puts out about falling in love creeps up on me and I find myself thinking just maybe. But to tell you the truth, I don't think anyone can really be faithful. And what I mean is faithful in their thoughts, actions when they are away from you, and when they are with you. To the gentleman that said its a choice for women to be single. It was not my choice but that of men not appreciating a real women.

Great message. I’ve been single by choice for a little over a year and half. I’ve learned so much about myself and have finally reached a point where I enjoy being alone. I know my husband is out there and when the time is right we’ll find each other.

I'm 30 and single by choice for some years. Don't want a family, just want to live alone and have full control over what I do with my time and resources, it's very important for my mental health. If a guy comes up and he's more exciting than my alone time, ok fine, but I'm definitely not "looking", in fact I'm more in politely turning down mode. But even if a relationship comes up, separate homes would be a must. Some people are just semi hermits and that's fine.

I’m single by choice, but it is not to find an eventual, satisfying relationship. I love being single. I love owning my own house. I love not having anyone else there unless they are a guest.
