I was studying for the MCAT and had to look this stuff up because I hadn't done it in so long lol. My elementary teachers would be greatly disappointed

Thanks, this was really helpful. For some reason my teacher never taught me long division. Know I can finally know how to work it out.

Thank you! This is so helpful for Ap Economics! They won't let us use calculators and I totally forgot how to do this!

I currently a math major in college so I usually just need your calculus videos to clarify certain topics. For some reason I couldnt stop listening to you describe something I learned in middle school. Wierd; you're that good a teacher.

My teacher didn't teach us the curriculum. Like only 20% but in grade 7. He taught us grade 10 algebra. Never ever taught long division or this. Reviewing this before grade 8.

@Twinsfan36
It's also good to know if the decimal values repeat, and there are ways to note this. For instance, whenever you divide a number by 7 and it goes on forever, it will have a repetition, and you can use a bar above the repeating digits to say that it does repeat forever

Honestly it's much easier to do it in this very simple way : multiply by ten, and then divide your final answer by ten. That's it. So here: 9/48 = 9/48 x 10/10. So we'll first just calculate: 90/48. (You do this as a normal standard easy division). You find 1, 875. So now that i have this number, I divided it by ten (since I initially multiplied the top number by ten to make it simpler). So = 0, 1875. It's simpler and faster I think.

When you did 48x7=336, you could have just as easily taken your answer (48x8=384), and subtracted 48. Just a bit faster for solving problems.
