NASA first landed on the moon nearly 50 years ago when the Apollo 11 astronauts touched down on July 20, 1969. One region of the country played a special role in training for that historic mission. A half century later, Flagstaff, Arizona, is still celebrating. Michelle Miller reports.

It's strange, they are struggling with a moon lander but I thought they had this figured out in 1969? WTF?

It would be fascinating to send people back to the moon, to record with today's cameras. Maybe even install a probe to send us hours of live feed of the earth.

Prehaps the government actually want to go to the moon for real this time

NASA has lost all original moon footage because they simply taped over it (as per official NASA sources) so who cares. Hopefully the next (Artemis) missions will have better visual effects, and less unscientific mistakes.
