Hi Tomo!
I want to share one of my successes thanks to your videos. Anyone who is struggling with outlining chord changes and hearing chord changes in your melodies and solos, I encourage you to read too because it is my main challenge and I had a great breakthrough recently.

In other videos you encourage us to play through Jazz Standards, to find a lead sheet and play through the changes with just 1-3-7 voicings with a simple 8th note swing strumming. You mention to do it 3, 4, 5 times per practice session. I always thought that's too much; if I am able to play cleanly its enough. But then I saw a couple videos of you actually playing through some tunes exactly that way, with no speaking, just demonstrating the importance of doing it diligently and repeatedly.

It inspired me to really try doing it many many times per day and I realized, that exercise is about ear training as much as technique! I have tried so many things, for years, to get myself to be able to hear chord changes when I play melodies and solos and this is what finally worked.

So another big thank you to Tomo for being so consistent in his message and instruction. There is a lot of fluff and noise out there when it comes to guitar instruction, and the focus on this channel on the fundamentals that really work has helped me make real progress in my playing after being stuck for a long time.

Triads are so foundational and important. Especially to know them all over the fretboard + their inversions, it helps so much with chord and phrase building.

Thank you so much Tomo for sharing with us, Yes triads are a life saver for writing pop songs because they help
fill in the void and can add character to some basic simple guitar Intros. I like to use them a lot in song writing.
Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks for this lesson. I wasn't familiar with the Bronco. You have a whole herd of them! 1 pickup is fun. Have a great weekend.

Good morning from TX, and thank you for another great video. I was just questioning if I needed to learn caged or just focus on triads, and this helped a lot in my decision

very cool video! It would also be cool if you can make a video with Joe Stump sometime. I would like to see him try your advanced rhythm techniques and you try his double-picking etude.

I rely on triads heavily in playing with my group. Not only is it easier but more important, it doesn't clutter up the sonic space .. it stands out.

Also with just one finger magically change an Em to a C..

Hello Tomo! Thanks for making this video. After I watched this I still have basically the same kind of question. I know the D chord from learning the open "cowboy" chords. But once I have to leave that position it's where I'm getting lost. How do you know where the next D triad is played? Does that question make sense or am I asking the question wrong? I'm so confused right now😔

Speaking of c.a.g.e.d., ever noticed that that 1 finger 'C' chord is same as a 'D' chord? Thanks Tomo
