Asking people where they are watching from is a great conversation starter !!!

these are all great tips. One thing I might add is do not let first time chatters steer the chat away from the content too much, I have people come in chat often that are new and they talk about stuff I do not really want in chat. Nothing really bad just weird stuff. I always try to turn the conversation around instead of getting upset. I will do the same thing you say here but more related to the content of the stream. Like if i am game streaming i will ask them what games they like or ask what games they have been playing recently. Or if I am playing guitar or piano, i will ask what music they like or what bands. Just anything to steer away from negativity if that is what is going on. Every once in a while I get new chat users like this that will come in to chat and first thing they say is completely unrelated, like they just need someone to talk to some times maybe. I try to be as nice as I can.

Always so many ways to do things. One streamer stated to not call out people who are lurking as they will leave. Also another streamer said to not focus on the number of viewers, but present the content as if you have viewers. I do not have any regular viewers even when I stuck to the schedule, so choosing a mod is not likely. Yes, these ARE my goals. Thank you for the information.

This is a great refresher . Some I know to do but some I forget to ask while engaging with the chat. Thank you.

Great video! Is there an easier way to stream from Quest 2 VR from Streamlabs! SO much has changed in the last year I was hoping there was an easy way.

I'm so glad you're out here putting out helpful tips. When I want to stream I'm always concerned that my mic levels aren't what they should be. Should I be recording a practice stream to check my levels?? Keep putting out your content. Always looking for more

Hello Michael! Sorry to bother you. I few years back, I used to use some kind of "bot" or feature, that as soon as a new viewer enters my stream, the bot welcomes him/her with a message, the user doesn't need to type anything. The bot detects the new viewer in the chat list and the message pops up in chat.
I'm wondering if it's you who made a video about it or someone else. I stopped using it because back in the day I thought it scared people, specially lurkers but 2 years later I still have the same 3 viewers, so I'd like to use it once again.
