How to Create Direct Download Links with Google Drive - 3 Ways in 2020: Yourself, online or with app

Hello and welcome back to another video tutorial. In this video I am going to show you three methods of how you can create a direct download link to your files and folders on Google Drive.

All methods require you get a shareable link. Do so by going to either:

Google Drive - File (right click) - Get Shareable Link
or
Google Drive - File (right click) - Share - Copy Link

(in the above example, '1eHitJtZaqyUcXl4ycQpR9XMlaSYbPSrg' is the file code)

How to convert:
1. Get shareable link from Google Drive
2. Copy your file ID
3. Format your URL like so:

If you want to share a whole folder at once you must first ZIP the folder before uploading it. If you want to share all images in a folder G-Drive Linker can create a custom download link for every file in a folder.

G-Drive Linker can take a URL for a direct file and convert it to a direct download link completely offline. The original version of G-Drive Linker was completely offline. With the latest update, G-Drive Linker can also search for contents of a folder and comprise those files into links. This process (of looking at folders) does require the connection of the internet, however, if you are just using G-Drive Linker for single files, no internet is required.

G-Drive Linker does not store information, or send it. You can test this out by running Windows Resource Monitor while using G-Drive Linker. The only bytes it will send are traveling to a URL to verify that it is in fact a Google Dive document.

There is 1 thing that isnt mentioned in this tutorial downloading of content has to be allowed first on the account otherwise youll get 404 error

I've tried this and it doesn't work for me. Did google change something again or am I doing it wrong. The file is located in the google drive main folder.

I need help. This is giving me an error 404, I have it set so anyone with link can view. I also have wrote my own program to change the link into a direct download link. I have tried both manually and also with my program I wrote, either way it gives me an error 404. Did something change? Or is google Drive only being really weird on my end?
Edit: For some reason it only doesn't work with my google drive, but it works when I do it with other people's google drives (Both manual and program). Even with all the same settings (Viewable by anyone with link etc). Maybe my Google Drive is bugged in some way? I looked through all my drive settings and google plus account settings.

Hi Gary, thanks for creating this useful video! However, I need your help still, lol: on my Google drive things seem a bit different: 1) I only have a "get link" option, not "get shareable link" (I guess it doesn't matter?) 2) once I paste the link in the notepad it doesn't have the word "open" in it, but instead, after the .com it has /drive/folder.... what do i do?

Is there a way to do this with a Google Sheets file? Your video is a great help, I did every step but still got an Error 404. I need it to be a URL that links to a tab-separated (.tsv), comma-separated (.csv), or extensible markup (.xml) file hosted on an external site with metadata formatted in English. I believe that Google Sheets would be the external site, but I am surely in way over my head and could be totally incorrect. Any help is much appreciated!

When you say online generator is not safe i agreed but this G-Drive Linker is offline, what is the possibility that the G-Drive Linker will fetch the information in a folder link without connecting online or using API? or it is fetching the information online in disguise while offline
