Your first method would have worked out! Separate the fractions, and continue from there.

Michael, I "love your videos.' However, I was not aware that a factor of the Pythagorian identity, such as 1/cos (x), could be changed to sec (x), without raising it to the second power. In other words, can we write the identity to read sin (x) +cos (x)= 1 without raising each factor to the second power?

At 3:14 wouldn't writing it as a subtraction within brackets and then squaring change the number? Instead of being 1/ cos^2x, wouldn't it add something extra because of 2ab and make it 1/ cos^2x + 2sinx/cos^2? Thank you!

I don't get where the cos (x) came from. I was lost after saying take the product of the two terms. Are you still taking the conjugate of the terms?

Why don't you just put up a black curtain in front of the whiteboard and close it from time to time, meanwhile, we'll just listen to your voice because that's exactly what's going on here, your a good instructor but you do your best to frustrate your viewers when you finally move out of the way and we're shocked to see twenty new lines written on the board. There's no continuity, you kill the focus with all the interuptions. I'll check your videos later because you really are good but today I had enought with the interruptions. Thank you.
