John, do you remember mom and grandma Hartl always tasted the raw meat to ensure the taste was right before cooking? Also grandpa Hartl used to make the bacon with vinegar …it was raw, very fatty and SOOO good!

Hi,

I want to clarify something: I wouldn't enjoy something like that either. The problem is that the "Mett" is not genuine "Mett". It has to be produced by a butcher on the same day and consumed on the same day. Please avoid packaged meat like the one shown in the video.

Instead, you can buy rolls from the bakery. Not bread, but a German roll from the bakery. Cut the rolls in half and spread butter on the top and bottom half. Then, add 50 grams of "Mett" on each half. Finally, add a little salt and pepper from the mill and maybe some onions on top.

I can guarantee you that a real "Mettbrötchen" is a culinary delight.
