When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings - Acoustic Cover

Here's my cover of When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings, the memorable song from Netflix's movie The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

I already loved this song when I heard it in the movie, but decided to learn and record it after seeing Gillian Welch and David Rawlings perform it during this year's Oscar ceremony. Can't decide which version I like more!

The harmony between the two voices is one of my favorite things about this song, so naturally I had to play around with it and record them both as well!

Beautiful rendition. I'm singing this at a friend's memorial service, and I wanted to hear others' covers of this wonderful song.

One thing - I know this was uploaded four years ago, but... it's "When they wrap my body in the *bindlin'* sheet, not "thin linen" sheet. I know most of the lyrics on-line show it as "thin linen, " but David Rawlings himself stated in an interview that it was bindlin' - a word they made up for the song.
