In this video we will compare the song "Somebody To Love" in Queen live, from 1977 to 1985.

Like Bohemian Rhapsody, the hit from Queen's previous album, A Night at the Opera, Somebody to Love possesses a complex melody and deep layering of voices, this time based on a gospel choir arrangement. This choir was created by Mercury, May and Taylor by overdubbing several single vocal parts.

Musically, it is a love rock ballad set to a 6/8 time signature and features the group's signature guitar style, with intricate harmonies and a notable solo by Brian May. From the side of the text, however, the piece is particularly connected with the gospel influence and creates a song about faith, despair and the search for the soul; Freddie Mercury, author of the text, wonders why the lack of love in his life, and the role in all of this played by the existence of God.
