David Bowie watching George Michael sing Freddy Mercury is the definition of the multiverse. We’ll never see anything like this again and it was a privilege watching this video

A rehearsal? That was a group of lucky people who just witnessed one of the greatest put on a masterful performance!!

This is not a rehearsal - it is the best performance ever. George Michael was the only one who could live up to Freddie Mercury's level!

And this was a "rehearsal" George Michael was out of this world

You know you're a badass when David Bowie and Seal show up just to watch you rehearse :-)

His rehearsal is better than many finished products.

I think George was the only person who could have fronted this band after Freddie. The world missed out on a George and Queen album.

The look on their faces tells everything - even Bowie and Seal were realizing that this comes from another universe.

George put his everything into this tribute. God he was pretty. Freddie would’ve been so proud. He made a beloved song even more beloved by doing one of the greatest tributes. He doesn’t even try to outdo Freddie...he underscores how great Freddie was. I miss you,

For all the autotune and lip syncers of today...This is what true, raw talent looks like!!!

One of George Michael’s finest moments. He’s giving 110% and it’s ‘just’ a rehearsal!

I love the way Brian May smiles when George sings the first note. As a musician myself I recognise that smile. It says " I know this is going to be special"

He was only 29 years old during that rehearsal. He really was incredible ! And Bowie watching with a smile, must have been such a special moment !

“Hey, just let me lay down one of the best vocal performances in musical history at this rehearsal practice.” ~George Michael

1:43 "Beautiful" - Brian May

What a compliment to receive

Not a huge George Michael fan but utter respect. No auto-tune, no in-ears, no monitor, no other words except pure talent.

This may be the only time in his career Bowie was standing in the wings thinking ‘ shit, I really, really hope I don’t have to follow him ….’. George, what a voice, truly fabulous. So missed.

George and Freddie were gifted with possibly the most beautiful male voices of all time.

George said he was there all week practicing because he absolutely wanted to get this right. He was a huge star who was a perfectionist and gave everything his all. He 150% nailed it in his performance here and on stage. Then again is anyone surprised about that? Incomparable talent and human being... what a loss to the music world and to Humanity 😔😢

There was no one else who could have done this difficult vocal justice. I thought that at the time in 1992. When I saw George walk on stage in that salmon-colored jacket, I said, "yes, he's the only one who could do this song." It was flawless.
