I've done ballet, yoga, Pilates, backcountry running and Nordic skiing, (all a great deal of fun) and I have to say without a doubt that even though the last few years I haven't been as active, Pilates and other types of stabilizing work still has a profound impact on my overall well-being and definitely helps prevent injury. It works!

I challenged myself this vacation to do workouts (all weightless and Pilates and stuff) to see the results in my ballet class, cause my teachers all highly recommended it to me, and I only have one week left until classes start again, and I feel so much stronger and more stable and when I balance (while cooking or something) I can hold it almost easy! My turns got better too, almost hit 4. To all my ballerinas out there… trust your teacher when he tells you to do Pilates, it is perfect for ballet.

I’m 62 and have absolutely no issue doing that.
I started my Pilates adventure in London at 22 years old.
I became an instructor 2002…(Full equipment and Mat-all to Advanced level/Stott credentials)
It works 🌹 I also have a Gyro practice 😉

Yes, I miss pilates classes. I used to do them about 4 or 5 times a week. My current gym does not have many classes, just about 3 a week, mostly fully booked. Usually manage about 1 or 2 a week. But I also do my version of it in the gym. I shall have to add this one. I do a shoulder stand and a plough, so similar.
