I watched in amazement for 15 years as he did that to us, night after night, show after show, town after town. Check out how dead-on tight he was coming out of "three choruses" and hitting his mark at the top of the last verse. Shows how nothing fazed him. His idols were Sinatra on vocals and Django Reinhardt on guitar and he was the once-in-forever blending of both. You can hear that in this clip. Nobody holds a candle to his "talent trifecta" - playing, singing and entertaining. I'm forever grateful to have been on guitar with him for one gig, much less for over four thousand of them.

It’s hard for non-guitar players to appreciate what he’s doing here. It’s not just fast. There are no effects—no echo, delay, distortion, or anything else that guitarists often rely on. His technique is flawless. He hits every note spot-on. There is thematic material. It sounds composed almost, but he’s improvising. He’s not just patterns. He’s making note choices and about how it all connects. It also follows the contours of the melody. This is a master at work.

Been playing guitar for 25+ years, and believe me, every guitar player in any genre will bow to this guy.

When Rolling Stone put out the list of 100 hundred greatest guitar players and Glen Campbell wasn't in the top 5 I realized it was a bogus list and quit reading.

Alice Cooper was good friends with Glen. Alice said once he was talking with Eddie Van Halen and Eddie wanted Alice to setup a meeting with Glen for guitar lessons. Now I see why!!

Jesus Christ, this is so fast and so clean, he would destroy most modern metal lead players with that precision.

I've been playing pro guitar with some heavy hitters for over 40 years. And I can honestly say Glen is one of the finest guitar players who ever lived. He could play country, jazz, rock, pop, R&B. He was first call for session work back in the day.
When Eddie Van Halen found out that Alice Cooper was best friends with Glen Ed begged Alice to set up a guitar lesson with Glen. Anyone who tries to detract from Campbells music abilities is just a fool. He knew how to play the right parts and solos for everything he did. None of this less is more bullshit. The right notes at the right time is everything! The guy left everyone swimming in his wake.
He had the whole package.
He was a house hold name.
Not to many guitar player's or performers are a household name.
R.I.P Glen. You are sorely missed.

He was just amazing. So many people don't recognize his skills because he was famous for country music, but I don't know anyone who could outplay Glen Campbell.

I love how he tells the band that he's going to do "three choruses" in the solo section during the song. That's awesome.

He is completely relaxed and has so much fun playing at a level that is light years beyond what most of us can only imagine

*Glen was surely one of the greatest guitarists and singers EVER.*

Always heard about his prowess, but never really heard him do anything like this. Live to boot! Straight into the amp, zero mistake hiding distortion, unforgiving clean sound and he kills it.

The most underrated guitarist of all time.

Let's remember that Glen is playing live: No Distortion, No Effects, No Gimmicks-Just his guitar-Clean! That is impressive!
On the other hand, he should have given that outfit back to Wayne Newton...

I've been playing guitar for forty years, and im not fit to change his strings.
I like how he looks and grins at the band while those horns are blowing away.
what a great guitar player and to one of the best guitarists.
