This is only the beginning. Let the dealerships feel the pain that they feed us.

Raising the price 50% then lowering it 20% isn't a deal

And then you go inside only to find out that the Actual price is 53K +

Take another 10k off and I'll come in to negotiate. Until then my 2005 is still running

It's a start, but more is needed. Still too expensive

Back in the 80s the average loan for a new pickup was three years for a truck that would last 20 years not today

So you have an extra 10k to spend on the first repair

Actual cost to buikd that truck with Union labor and tax is 9000 bucks

Take $20k more off and it’s worth getting towed in for engine failure…. Multiple times.

Save your money boys. I’m a 20 year GM dude and these 19+ trucks are complete garbage.

Good will on their part but that 5.3 has lifter issues.

You mean the 50% markup on trucks is finally biting them in the butt? Weird.

I am in the process of getting a Trail Boss Silverado for 45, 300. Nice to be in the drivers seat finally.

Been waiting for a Sierra 1500 Denali, but good lord I am not paying 65+ thousand. They can piss off

Whenever the factory OK’s a huge price slash, they look at ways to rake it back via the parts department. A few items that are built to break and can’t be obtained elsewhere (fancy composite headlight, front bumper, airbag cover trim etc) will each cost $3K more than they should. Your great savings will return to them the first time you hit a shopping buggy.

If you qualify for all rebates, trade assist, military, and no special finance

Still little 8k to much.If people only knew what it actually cost GM to make tryck you would be pissed if you paid 30k

Ill only believe the price when I see the final paperwork. Ive been to dealers that say x off msrp, then in the finance office you see x in hidden fees they dont reveal until youve been there for 2 hours and they have you signing 40 documents. I tell them give me the car/truck for the price advertised, and 4/4 times i walk out because the "fees are non negotiable" theyll call me back later and say theyll take some or all the fees off, but the fact they had them at all makes me refuse to do business. I cant wait for the day dealers stop being legally protected

Thanks for your in depth reporting. 43K is not bad. I would be in the market for that but dealing with uneducated sales staff makes it excruciating to even think about going to a dealer. I’ll wait until they are in the used truck market.

That first repair is that 6L80 / 6L90 transmission since they put that cheapass torque converter in them, plus the added transmission temp valve that lets you cook the insides. Once you get all that fixed you might have a decent ride. I say let’em sit there until GM does the right thing and submits a recall from 2014 to present and reimburses everyone who has had to make these repairs in the first 100, 000 miles.
