I'm an old man, so I can recall that the world's most expensive production car in 1962 was the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud at just under $18, 000, at a time when a Chevy Impala sold for $2, 800. Now we have Jeeps... JEEPS!... selling for the price of 7 Rolls Royce Silver Clouds!! It boggles my old brain.

I'm 68. I bought 5 brand new cars in my life. Over 30K was always a luxury vehicle. Real wages haven't risen since I last bought a brand new vehicle 30 years ago.

A person going to buy a Chevy Equinox and willing to pay $49, 000 for it has to be out of their mind, and literally did zero research as to the quality of the Equinox platform over the last 15 years.
